Mountain Bike Shed
St Louis has a rich culture of biking. However, the shelves of most shops are filled with Lycra, aero helmets, road bikes, and those more concerned with Strava times then good times. NOT US! The shed is a laid back atmosphere where you can touch and feel all those cool new bits of gear to keep you bombing down the trail longer and safer. We carry all the protection, apparel, and accessories mountain bikers in STL need to hit the trails in style.
Mountain biking sounds intimidating to a lot of people who haven't had a chance to get out on the trails yet. Commonly, MTBrs will tell you that the Lycra road riders, who motorists tend to not love so much, are the real dare devils. In the woods, you won't have cars zipping by you nor will you take a fall off of those skinny, little tires putting you in the hospital full of asphalt. The dirt and grass out on the trail is far more forgiving. Not to mention if you do mess up, its far less embarrassing in the woods. On a MTB you can control your speed and make your rides as calm or wild as you choose. Within 4 miles of our door, there are 4 trail networks to cater to every level of rider. I'm not a racer and will likely never see a podium. Mountain biking isn't about who is the fastest or who can ride the longest. It's about going outside, connecting with nature, and pushing your personal limits whatever they may be. You don't have to be a racer to be a part of the community. The people who ride are as much of the reason I ride than anything else. All we care about is that your getting outside and taking advantage of the plethora of trails here in St Louis.
Linda - Shop Dog
Welcoming you to the shop everyday is our American Bulldog Linda. She is one of the calmest and sweetest dogs out their weighing in at over 70+ lbs. Her favorite local trail is the Eureka Mountain Bike Park. Kids, parents, and hardcore cyclists lover her. Come meet Linda and take a look around at the shop or join her for a group ride this summer.
